For my own studio which is a converted garage I designed my own pole. I have 2 and they are static poles that are permanently bolted to the floor and ceiling. My poles are 2inch in diameter and are made from a polished chrome plated steel, a local joiner made and installed these for me. I paid £140 each for manufacture and fitting. If you are using a venue where you can install permanent poles it may be worth calling local tradesman in your area who can measure and design your own poles. I also have a kitten pole in my lounge which is not permanent and can be taken down in minutes. The kitten pole is an ideal pole for home use but also can be bolted to the floor and ceiling if you are using the pole daily and need a more heavy duty option.

The Load spreader is used as a ceiling mount and enables the pole to be secured without the need for any fixings at all. Not recommended for use with Artex ceilings. For best results use on a flat ceiling. Ideal for use with concrete ceilings. If you have a plaster ceiling you will need to locate a substantial ceiling joist or choose the Semi-Fixed pole for a more secure fitting. If in doubt, seek advice from your local tradesman. Damage to the ceiling can occur if these guildlines are not adhered to.

Does the pole come with installation instructions?

Yes, the pole comes with simple step by step instructions supported by illustrations. Following the instructions will give you a very safe

product which is fit for use.

How long will it take to install?

Installation should not take more than 10 minutes to do. Simply follow the instruction manual.

I don’t like doing DIY and don't have tools. Can I ask someone else to install my pole?

You will not need any tools to erect your pole. You may find it useful to use a spirit level to ensure your pole is straight. Alternatively you may line up your pole

by eye using vertical lines in your room, such as a door frame or cupboard. In addition we supply you with the simple tool needed to tighten the foot.

Will there be visible fixings on my ceiling and floor?

No. The load spreader design of the Removable Kitten-Pole eliminates the need for any permanent fixings. When you are not using your Kitten-Pole you may store it in the Kitten-Bag out of sight.

Will my ceiling get damaged?

We advise against using the Removable Kitten-Pole where there is an unlevelled ceiling, for instance Artex. The load spreader requires a flat ceiling for best results. If you have Artexed ceilings, you should choose the semi-Fixed Kitten-Pole is the better choice.

Can I put my pole up anywhere in my flat?

Where you place your pole, depends on your ceiling type. We advise removable Kitten-Poles be used where there is a concrete ceiling where ever possible.

If you have a plaster ceiling you must locate a substantial ceiling joist by using a stud finder. With this type of ceiling we recommend the Semi-Fixed Kitten-Pole. At all times the pole must be installed where there is a level floor.

My room has wooden/laminate flooring, will the pole stay in place?

Absolutely, the pole has a heavy duty adjustable mounting foot which will keep its position on any flooring. Make sure you periodically check your pole and tighten by hand if necessary. Make sure your floor is level

I'm not a perfect size 10...will the pole hold larger ladies like me?

The Kitten-Pole has been designed for every woman, not the 10 women on the planet who look like supermodels! The Kitten-Pole is very strong. Provided you fit your pole or have it fitted in accordance with our instructions and follow the Health and Safety tips, your pole will hold up to 20 stone in body weight.

What do you mean by, Standard size Kitten-Pole?

We have three standard Kitten-Poles – small standard, combi, and long standard. These poles cover all ceilings ranging from 224cm (88”) to 247cm (97”) in height. The Kitten-Pole comes with a component which allows 80mm of adjustability, making it shorter or longer where needed. Please see our conversion chart.

We don’t make made to measure in the removable range. If you require a made to measure size, you must choose the semi-fixed Kitten-Pole.

I have high/low ceilings, will the pole fit?

You may live in a character building with significantly higher or lower ceilings. If your ceiling is

substantially higher/lower than average (2.4m) you should choose our Semi-Fixed Kitten-Pole. We can accommodate any ceiling height up to approx 3m.

What if I move from high/low ceiling property to an average ceiling height property, do I need a completely new pole?

Don't worry kitten, we have thought of everything. The bottom half of the pole would still be used. All you will need is to order a new top length of the pole to fit the new ceiling. Providing the ceiling isn’t very high. In which case we may advise you purchase a ceiling to convert your pole into a Semi-Fixed pole.

My partners' ceiling is higher/lower than mine. How can I use my pole at his/her place?

The bottom half of the pole can still be used at your partners property. You will only need another top length and chrome plated socket to fit your partners property. Providing the ceiling isn’t very high. In which case we may advise you purchase a ceiling to convert your pole into a Semi-Fixed pole

How can I take my pole to my partners place?

With each Kitten-Pole (patent pending) comes a Kitten Bag for carrying and storing your pole. The bag fits into a car boot easily and is made from plain black strong nylon. Nobody will guess you have your very own Kitten-Pole inside! However , you will need to an extra chrome plated socket at your partners accommodation. We can do this very cheaply for you.

What exactly will I get when I buy my Kitten-Pole?

You will get your standard or bespoke Kitten-Pole(pat pending), a load spreader, a central component, Kitten-Bag for storage and portability and full step by step instructions.

What don’t I get that I might need?

A spirit level. It’s possible to erect your pole without a spirit level. You may line up your pole by eye using vertical lines in your room, such as a door frame or cupboard.

How long will my Kitten-Pole take to arrive?

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Kitten-Pole is a 2 piece (Varying lengths) chrome plated 38mm diameter tube (wall thickness 1.2mm). A deep necked and grub screw socket (chrome plated) is used to locate and secure tube to ceiling. A mild steel sleeve joint (zinc plated) is used for the central component and functions a steel join between the middle meeting tubes. A heavy-duty adjustable mounting foot (100mm) has been fitted to the remaining tube end and used to adjust the pole to fit various ceiling heights. A steel tightening tool is used to tighten the foot as far as possible. Follow the detailed instructions to install your pole.
