Fit2Tease New pole-dance and burlesque fitness instructor training courses launch this Spring Fit2tease will be launching their first fitness instructor training courses this Spring. Instructors will have the opportunity to train in burlesque and pole-dancing fitness classes which will be suitable for their male and female clients of all ages in gyms across the country. The idea was born when fit2tease co-director and fitness instructor Susie Rowley spotted a gap in the market. “A lot of my fitness clients were keen to learn pole dancing”, she says. “I bought a pole and taught myself some basic spins from online lessons but quickly grew frustrated by the lack of quality instruction. I realised there were hundreds of people who would love the opportunity to learn these dance styles in a structured fitness environment and so I tracked down two like-minded professionals and together we founded fit2tease.” Beside Susie, the fit2tease programme is devised and taught along with two other qualified fitness instructors, both of whom have extensive training and experience in dance. The classes combine challenging dance routines, intense aerobic activity, pole spins and burlesque moves. Susie continues, “The emphasis is on fun and fitness more than anything else, and we believe the classes will allow a wider audience to reap the benefits of these dance styles and allow all participants, regardless of age, shape or sex to enjoy these dance styles they may not otherwise have considered.” fit2tease aims to bring pole and burlesque to the wider fitness market which has until now been denied access, and believes it is possible to take these classes away from the risqué roots from which they came. Susie continues, “Classes like these have broken ties with their historical stereotypes and are booming in popularity. Admittedly, there is an element of tongue-in-cheek sauciness in the choreography, but it’s up to individual class members how far they want to take it!” fit2tease will provide instructors with a full support service including a manual of core pole and burlesque moves which they can adapt and use in their classes, aerobic dance choreography, marketing and PR support, music produced exclusively for the course and advice, including how to source poles. Fitness instructor and personal trainer Rob Quarm was given a sneak preview and admits, “I loved it! Despite reservations I had about myself, as a male, pole dancing, the challenge of executing the pole spins in time to the music, in addition to the dance choreography, kept me thinking on my feet. I’ve already had customers asking when I’ll be starting to teach these classes. I can see this taking off in a big way!” Qualified fitness professionals requiring more information should visit www.fit2tease.com
